Aldanat Newsletter
May 2026
The aim of this news letter is to help improve communication, ensuring you are kept up to date with upcoming events, policy changes, training updates, best practice guidance and key developments or changes within the company.
It’s also a great place to highlight achievements of the people we support and recognise staff.
A Quick Review of the Year
The past year has been an interesting and eventful one for Aldanat Care. Taking on the Hub has been a valuable learning experience for the whole team and has certainly brought a few new challenges. It’s fair to say that this temporarily shifted some of our focus away from the care side of the business. However, now that the Hub is up and running, our attention is firmly back where it belongs!
I am working closely with managers across our services to strengthen what we do, improve the quality of our support, and ensure both the people we support, and our staff feel valued and well supported.
Many of you will be aware that the CQC visited our Peterhouse Residential service. While the inspection highlighted areas where we need to improve, it also gave us a clear direction for moving forward. It was, however, disappointing that the report didn’t capture the outstanding work carried out by our teams every day, or the real difference being made in the lives of the people living there.
That said, this recognition doesn’t define us. Across all our services, there continues to be incredible work taking place every single day. Although I haven’t been directly involved in the day-to-day running of each service over the past year, I have kept up to date with the progress, achievements, and the positive impact you continue to make for the people we support and it’s something to be truly proud of.
I want to take this opportunity to recognise the dedication and compassion shown by all staff, managers, and the office team. The difference you make every day does not go unnoticed, and it’s this commitment that will continue to drive us forward into an even stronger year ahead.
Looking ahead, we’ve made some exciting changes that I’m really pleased to share. These developments are all about continuing to grow Aldanat Care with a strong, supportive structure in place ensuring positive, lasting improvements across all areas of the organisation.
We have some fantastic new roles and developments:
✨Paul Mutton has moved into a more focused role in Health & Safety and Estate Management. As we continue to grow, this will allow us to further strengthen our environments, maintain high standards, and ensure our systems are robust, safe, and well-structured.
✨Oliver Smith has joined us as Training Manager to support Shelley. This is an exciting step forward, helping us build and deliver stronger in-house training that truly supports your development. Oliver is also keen to spend time within services to understand day-to-day practice and ensure training is practical, relevant, and beneficial to you all.
Within the office, we’ve also been working hard to create more dedicated teams, ensuring that each area has a clear focus and stronger support in place. This will help us respond more effectively, improve communication, and provide better overall support to services.
✨Laura Reeves is now maintaining compliance across all services and works closely with ✨Jenna Ranson, who is overseeing training. While they each have their own areas of responsibility, they work closely together to ensure staff receive the support they need, when they need it, across all areas of the organisation.
✨Sadie Conlon (was Farrow) and ✨Rachael Reeves have joined forces to support our recruitment and media. This will allow them more time to integrate into the community and showcase Aldanat at events, highlighting the brilliant work that you are all doing.
✨Mitch Baya joined us back in November as our new PBS Practitioner and is working closely with Rebecca Hunter, our PMVA Trainer and PBS Trainee Practitioner for community services, to review and strengthen our approach to behaviours of concern and PMVA practices. They are also focusing on how we collect and use data to drive better outcomes for the people we support.
✨Connor is now focusing more on implementing new systems and overseeing finances across Aldanat Care and Precious. While this means he is less involved in day-to-day operations, he remains a valued and integral part of Aldanat
Lastly, ✨Kym Thorburn will be heading up the Bank team, focusing on building a strong internal agency and expanding our support for people living at home with families, helping them to access and engage more fully with their communities.
There is a real sense of momentum building across Aldanat Care. With the Hub established, a strengthened management structure, and a clear focus on quality and support, we are in a fantastic position to move forward with confidence.
Thank you all for your continued hard work, commitment, and passion. The year ahead is full of opportunity, and it’s genuinely exciting to see what we can achieve together.

A Message from the Health & Safety Team
I’d lust like to highlight the hard work of our grounds and maintenance staff, Clive across sites and Scott at the Hub.
We have a lot of issues arise and as we move forward without a fixed maintenance agreement, I would like to thank them for their efforts and share with all our staff how things will work going forward.
Please log any maintenance or health and safety issues on Hive and these will be assessed and the work allocated to the appropriate contractor.
Clive’s Focus in the Spring and Summer will be back on the grounds and gardens so more jobs will be put out to Weeks or independent contractors.
Once a job has been attended to it will be for staff or their manager to sign off as completed on Hive.
If I could also take this opportunity as a reminder to ensure that we are aware of the floor plans for our services and if there are any discrepancies as to actual locations of items such as stop valves and distribution boards then let me know and we can get these revised. I will be visiting services over the next couple of weeks to see how things are going and listen to any service issues regarding maintenance.
I hope this is understandable and thank you for cooperation.
