Peter House
Residential Support in Essex
Peter House is an eight-acre site based in the Essex countryside offering residential support to adults with a learning disability, complex needs and mental health conditions in a safe and homely environment.

The site is home to 6 purpose-built luxury flats in our peter house residential service, as well as being home to supported living accommodation for up to eleven people on the same site. The mix of residential and supported living services offers a care pathway on one site, making it possible to reduce care packages as people become more independent, while staying in familiar surroundings.
Our Approach
At Peter House, we focus on positive outcomes and developing the skills and confidence needed to move towards independent living. We believe in taking positive risks which harness the potential and individual preferences of each person, ensuring that the people we support are encouraged to set goals, make progress, and be valued and active members of their local community.

Our team is there to support with everything from learning skills such as self-care, cooking and cleaning, to supporting people to enjoy their local community, attend college and much more. We have a shared vehicle which is used for days out and off-site activities.

Our dedicated support team works with the people supported at Peter House to offer a range of activities to meet everyone’s needs and preferences – from crafts and cooking to exercise sessions.

Over the years, we’ve built a great relationship with local clubs like Gateway and Rock It Club, enabling the people we support to socialise and interact with others, as well as attend workshops such as music & movement, drama, arts & crafts, health & wellbeing, computers, cooking and much more. We’ve also established links with local colleges for those wishing to access college courses.
About Peter House
Peter House itself is an older property which in 2023/2024 received a complete refurbishment and is now home to 6 purpose-built luxury flats. This residential setting offers a warm and homely environment, with support for those who are working towards living independently. Spread over three floors, the bright, spacious and modern flats are finished to a high specification, providing a comfortable and efficient space designed to support a fully inclusive and enabling environment. The complete refurbishment of the flats, along with the dedicated and committed service of the Aldanat team, combines to offer an enhanced quality of life for the people that we support.

Nestled in 8 acres of grounds and surrounded by countryside, Peter House has plenty of opportunities for gardening activities and space for residents to enjoy time outdoors.

Peter House is located in Kirby le Soken, a small village in the Essex countryside, near to Frinton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze. Our location gives us plenty of opportunities for lovely days out at the seaside as well as exploring local towns, villages and attractions.
